I was sitting here watching TV last night when suddenly the lights flickered a couple of times and then everything went dark in about half the house. The weirdest part is that the other half of the house still has power, so the kitchen lights are on but the living room and bedrooms are completely dead. I went out to check the breaker box and nothing seemed to be tripped, which is really confusing because I don't know what else could cause a partial outage like this. I checked with my neighbors and they all have power, so it's definitely something specific to my house and not a wider outage. I'm starting to worry that this could be a serious issue, maybe a problem with one of the main lines coming into the panel or a bad connection somewhere that could be a fire hazard. I really don't want to mess around with this myself because electricity is one of those things that you don't take chances with, especially when you don't have any idea what's causing the problem. I need to get someone out here who can figure out what's going on and get my power back on before my food in the fridge goes bad and I'm stuck without lights in half my house for who knows how long. I've been trying to find someone who can diagnose electrical faults in Belmont homes and get this sorted out quickly because I really can't function like this. Has anyone else experienced a partial power outage where only some circuits went out? What ended up being the cause and how long did it take to get fixed? I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who's dealt with something similar.
Power flickered and now half my house has no electricity
